[AFTV2 Gaming Controller] Thoughts on listening to audio through the headphone jack?

I currently have a wired pair of headphones connecting to a bluetooth receiver to listen to audio from the FTV 2 while on my bed. There is some interference and depending on where the receiver is placed, there is an occasional drop in sound for a split second, that reoccurs every 6 seconds.

Thus, my next best option would be to spend on the Amazon's second gen Gaming controller that has the headphone jack. Wifi Direct is better than Bluetooth, but from the recent experience with my 2nd gen remote and there is very limited reviews regarding the audio on the headphone port.

So has anyone that purchased the gaming edition tried out listening to videos / audio / gaming sounds via the headphone jack on the controller?

Droid Maxx Black Screen Of Death

Background, I have a Droid Maxx that I purchased/leased from Verizon, that arrived with 6-7.2. I downgraded to 6-7 and rooted. From the time of purchase the phone would reboot a few times a week. After rooting it began to reboot usually daily or many times a day. A week ago on Saturday it rebooted and began to loop from splash screen and back off. After many restarts it went into the factory recovery and no options would work and the screen forever went black. It has been charged for days, no button combinations work, except when plugged into the computer while holding the down vol it will load the hsusb drivers will sometimes load, and occasionally when connected to the computer or wall charger the green led will light. So I took the phone into verzion and they see the same results and attempted to charge it with both a cable and wireless, same results. So they shipped a new unit to me and before shipping this old one back to them I have a few questions for ones of you that may know the answer:

Anything I can do to restore it to stock? I assume no from my research
Will they discover its rooted?
If so what will be the resulting action?

Wont boot

I gave my phone to my brother and some how he managed to soft brick it and I'm trying to bring it back from the dead.

The device is S-On and has philz Touch on and is a ThreeUK device. I tried flashing the stock RUU through fastboot but it wont connect?

I'm not fussed what rom its running, I just need it running. Anyone have any suggestions?

wifi and bluetooth concurrently?!

been trying to get my sisters old 5303 working with her Garmin connect ap for some time now without success. she had stock rom. .205 from memory. seemed her wifi would completely refuse to work as soon as bluetooth was on. was never sure if it was because of something the Garmin connect app was doing, or just the phone. in my wisdom i decide to flash a custom rom, [ROM][XSP][CM12.1] StryFlex™ LP v3.1 | Official Sony Lollipop UI [Updated 04-10-2015], which by the way run lighting fast, very impressed. however, it remains giving me the same issue. The wifi looks like its still connect goign by the wifi logo on home screen, but just refuses to load anything on browser, and wont subsequently allow a Garmin sync as it obviously cant reach the garmin servers.
we used to get an "association rejected" rejected message using the stock rom, and was hoping the newer droid softare would resolve this , but unfortunately it hasnt.

Is this common, or does it sound like a hardware issue? is there any fix for this?

Stuck on kitkat

Hi guys

I am using SM-T807 (3g version for Turkey) and love the slate but i am stuck on kitkat

There is no lollipop upgrade to my 807 and i've tried all t807 firmware variants on sammobile but non of them work.
Also i cannot find lollipop bootloader (maybe T807T -Tmobile version- bootloader may work but i cannot find anywhere)

Now it sounds weird but i came up with an idea.

What if i flash a T800 wifi version lollipop stock rom? Technically after flashing i will not be able to use 3g but i will have lollipop. So after then i can flash any custom T805 3g version lollipop rom.

After all search i find this solution but any other solutions will be appreciated

Help, Hardbrick LG L90

Hello guys, i'm new here. First of all english is not my native language so sorry if i make any mystakes.
I flashed my phone to Lollipop. Then i tried to install twrp (with Flashify) recovery so then i could install Xposed... but the thing is that i may have used the wrong file..
My phone doesn't start. The only sign of live that it gives is when i plugged it to the PC, the pc makes the usual sound when you plug a USB. And it shows my phone as a usb with 63MB of storage (obviouly my phone has more storage). And when i go to Disk admin it shows me all the partitios that my phone has.
Also in Devices admin it shows my phone as: LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM6)
Do you know what can i do to unbrick my phone? :crying::crying:

Broken screen, any way to retrieve data?

Hello and thanks in advance for any help you can give me. As the tittle states I have a kindle fire HDX 8.9 WiFi and the screen is broken so I am unable to access the device and when I plug it into a Windows computer nothing happens (don't see it pop up in device manager or anything). Is there any way to retrieve the data? It is turned on as I can see it show up as a Bluetooth device when I scan from my phone but it will not connect as I can't use the touchscreen etc.. I bought another same device and wanted to transfer my old pictures and such over. Thanks again!

Custom vibration pattern problem on H440N

Can anyone else confirm that custom vibration creator is not working on their H440N? Go to Settings / Sound / Vibration Type and then click that + icon to create your own custom vibration pattern and reply if it works.

When I use it, it just stops receiving clicks after the first tap... weird.

I always get this error whenever I try to flash the Nexus 5 with using the flash-all file, I installed Android Studio, restarted my PC, even got the 6.0 factory image. None work and I always get that error, please help? I'm trying to restart this Nexus 5 for my dad. The Nexus 5 is rooted with franco kernel and TWRP but on stock ROM.

Nexus 4 new update/ how to install via Wugs

I used the Wugs toolkit to root my phone but have always been able to download the update from the internet. I just opened my phone and noticed the new system update but I don't know exactly how to install it from the phone with Wugs. I usually use Wugs and go with the Flash Stock No Wipe mode. This way I just install it from a folder after it has been downloaded. When it's already to go on the phone I'm not sure how to install it or find it so I can use the Flash stock no wipe. I hope I am being clear on this. I now have LMY 48M on a 5.1.1 Nexus 4. Nothing custom I'm pretty sure. As I said I did most all with a Wugs Toolkit. I hope you have an easy solution and if I can ask, where is the downloaded new update at on my internal storage???

Where is the "Thanks" button (I'm not joking, it doesn't show up for me much at all)

You can see from my profile that I've been a member for a long time. I'm not very social, so I don't troll the threads much, just use what I need for the device in hand. I always appreciate what others have put out and I do like to show my appreciation, but I've noticed over a few years (there's gaps between my site use), that I for a large part, can't "Thank" the OPs. If there is a write up or tutorial link someone can point me to, then please do. I did try to search the entirety of XDA, but you might imagine searching for "Thanks" and the like will primarily pull up a lot of posts asking about Thanks..

I should say I DO know where the button "should" be, but it's just not there on a lot of the OPs I look at.

Unlock hidden 4G LTE bands

Has anyone had any success with enabling extra 4G LTE bands? This thread (click) about the Xiaomi Mi Note (pro) describes how to do it. It uses the same chipset as the ZUK Z1. Is it too straightforward to think it may work on this phone?

It describes how to use Qualcomm's diagnostic tool to modify the available frequencies / bands and it seems to work for quite a few people. Kudos to the first person that gets band 20 (800MHz) enabled!

Wifi button doesent toggle

after the latest system updates i have few issues
wifi button doesn't toggle & wifi settings screen shows "turning on wifi"

I have tried factory reset, downgraded the version, wiping cache partition but nothing working..

[HELP] Cursor/Mousepointer on NON-Rooted Shield TV Pro

Is this possible ? heard people have the touchpad on the controller to work on tablet and portable but not on det Shield TV.

I would LOVE to have this fixed when a whole lot of my sideloaded apps need it for touchinteractions.

Sony Xperia Compact Unlocking

Hi there, I try to network unlock my Sony Xperia Z1 compact to be able to use it on another network. I called my phone provider and they gave me a code.
Unfortunately it does not work. They ask me to send the phone to a weird electronic company that does not look directly related with Sony.

I don't really want to buy a code from all these unlock web sites and I like the challenge to do it by myself. I ask you guys if there is a generator that can generate the code for me or even an algorithm available to the public or even a way to flash the phone to do the job.

Hi, i have success compiled kernel 5.0.2 with mac80211 support and drivers for wifi cards.
insmod, rmmod, lsmod working good ( i have too Kali Linux on my Galaxy s6)
Now i want have Lollipop 5.1.1 but with this i have problem.
After i success compiled kernel and flash my phone freeze on inscription "Samsung Galaxy S6" and have small red inscription "Kernel is not seandroid"
What i must do for possible start my lollipop 5.1.1?
I had one kernel for 5.1.1
1. Root included
2. KNOX removed
3. "Kernel is not seandroid" removed
and system boot normal but with my compiled kernel.

How to change lockscreen on stock?

I think sony's default locksceen is so easy to unlock.The phone is unlocking itself on my pocket and its very uncomfortable.
So i want to use another lockscreen.I flashed a custom rom(CM Based Carbon Rom) which has great lockscreen as i wanted.But rom has other problems.

Use Usb For "__" Changing Everytime?

I cant seem to find a solid answer on this, I'm sure someone knows... Since the update to 6.0, the usb auto returns to charging only? It stay that way I set it, untill I plug it back in. Is this something knew in marshmallow? Thank you.

S6 Edge Brightness

So the Galaxy S6 Edge can get up to 600 nits of brightness on auto mode but only around 300 on manual mode. I would like to know if there is any way to get the manual mode to get that high and yes I know it would not be good for my battery. Thanks in advance for your help.

You Need:

- Winrar, 7-Zip or similar
- Notepad++
- Tool for unpack/repack mtk boot.imgs
- Kitkat Stock ROM
- Lollipop ROM for port
- Brain :p

Step 1.- Unzip the port Lollipop ROM and your stock ROM also.



Step 2.- Delete this files or folders in port ROM and replace with your files from Stock ROM:

Step 3.-.Rename you stock boot.img to stockboot.img and the port boot.img portboot.img. Use zImage from your stockboot.img and the ramdisk from portboot.img, recompile and replace in port rom folder.




Step 4.- Open the updater-script in META-INF in port rom, open it with Netepad++. Edit the mount points(compare with your updater-script from stock META-INF)

Why am i only getting 126mA-210mA from a 800mA and 2A and 1A charger? Im tired of this charging game, all the time im looking for a charger and then takes hours for a half a battery. All my galaxys charged up 1% every 90 seconds while using it, this g pro is the opposite.

Phone not being detected on PC

Hi All,

Not posted in here for a while but always the first place i come when I have any issues.

Received my Z5 today. Everything is sweet but I cant seem to get the phone to connect to my PC so Sony Companion doesn't pick it up. There's nothing in Device manager and nothing comes up in the notification bar like it did on my Z. The phone does charge and vibrate when the USB cable is initially plugged in. Am i missing something obvious or is there something i need to do.
I have tried it on both Win 7 and Win 10. Installed the companion first on win 10 but not on Win 7. I haven't tried sony's supplied cable as i cant see this helping.... (trying it now)

Any help would be appreciated

moto x temp root?

Hi I'm new here not sure where to put this so I put it in general. OK so I have the moto x first gen on atnt but I always had cricket. I can't unlock the bootloader according to the Motorola website. Tried many root methods but all failed except. On kingroot sometimes it roots but only for a short time. Not sure what I can do with the temp root to help root my phone perm. Thanks for reading

Can I switch the main camera?

Hi!
My HTC M8's rear camera in on short cirtuit (I suppose, because as soon as I open it the image starts to vibe, and the phone makes a strange BZZZZ never heard before).
But my front camera works fine.

For some application, like Whatsapp Web or Google Cardboard, I need to scan a QR code... and it's impossible, because the rear camera can't focus, and I can't switch camera from the applications.

Is there any way to set the front camera as default one?

IMEI for fully paid off Tmobile Note 4

Last week, I bought a Tmobile Note 4 to be used on ATT. The seller has good ratings, and the phone came in like new in condition fully sim unlocked. He said he bought it throught TMobile and paid it off in full. He used it on Straighttalk.

I finally have time to do an IMEI check today on Swappa. This is what it says:

I'm trying to get a copy of the sale receipt from him. I just want to know if other users with full paid off Tmobile Note 4 has tried to do an IMEI check to see if it's possible for it to say it's financed when in fact it's paid off.

Have been using 4.4.2 Alliance Rom for a year - suddenly stops at first logo

I've been running rooted with Alliance Rom build 32 for about a year with zero problems. The phone battery ran low last night and the phone turned off. When I turn it on it stops at the first logo. I can't get into Philz
recovery. It will go into downloader mode. I tried using Odin to revert to the stock MJ9 I started from when I used Casual. It flashed successfully (stock pit and MJ9) but still gets stuck at the the first logo and won't go into recovery.

SD card is removed. I haven't made any modifications to the phone for the past six months except adding a few well known apps from the store.

Any advice on how to get back to where I can load recovery and proceed to reinstall would be greatly appreciated.

PS.

I would have bought a new phone last year but it seems all the ones I like are bootloader locked. I can live without the stylus (would love a new note though...). Any recommendation on a replacement for the Note 2 would be much appreciated.

Disable wifi from userland

I'm using a chrooted debian within Android on a jb tablet. I would like to enable and disable wifi from a cronjob within debian. Is it possible to do it with the help from the sys or the proc filesystem?
I'm also thinking of writing a small utility in c to do the job so i'm looking for the c equivalent of the java wifimanager.wifisetenabled(). Is it a possible solution?

Phone won't charge or start

Hiya I need help
My HTC One Mini 2 doesn't charge or start up.
The only reason I can think this would happen is when I dropped in ketchup:silly: but I wiped it off and cleaned all the ports and it was hours before it stopped working. I tried connecting it to my pc and holding power+volume up/down.
Before it stopped working it was on, at 10%, then it said USB Host Mode stopped charging kept on switching to car mode and then shut down. After it stopped working I put it on the charger and it did flash the charging bolt once.. Whenever I connect it, it doesn't show led or lightning bolt anymore. I really need help.

Google Keyboard Typing Sounds Issue

I use Google Keyboard, and I have an issue. When I type, I get vibration feedback for each of the keys I press. However, that's not the case for the sounds. I type fast, and I only get a keypress sound for some of the times I press the keys. For example, if I type HELLO, I hear 3 keypress sounds instead of 5. Anyone knows how to solve this?

My nexus 4 always gives me greyed out WiFi signals I've changed different ROMs kernels still it gives greyed out signals and sometime not in range error

TWRP install problem

I bought this phone 2 weeks ago and it came with multi lang. MIUI 6 ROM. I flashed TWRP normally, flashed eu.developer ROM. After that 2 new updates came out and after last update i tried to flash TWRP to install and try AOSP ROM but when i install TWRP it reverts to Mi Recovery. Tried installing from updater app, fastboot, Mi Recovery and nothing works, always goes back to Mi Recovery.

Poor battery life

I have an LG G3 16GB and have been disappointed with the battery life for some time now, with the Android system typically being the culprit according to battery doctor with it using 64% on average. Oddly when I go into android settings and view battery use it's telling me the usage is...
Android OS 17%
Screen 17%
Cell standby 12%
Android System 8%
So battery doctor is telling me one thing and the native battery use app is telling me another.

I do find the phone get's quite hot around the camera area which is annoying as I am a light user. When I view the battery doctor app it's telling me the amazon apps (kindle & shop) are trying to restart 40 or 50 times over a period of an hour.

Anyhow would I be better off downgrading to Kitkat or maybe trying another ROM such as CM12. Any other suggestions welcome?

uleFone is again announcing a new smartphone. Here the first spy photos of their new upcoming flagship. The flagship will be an all-metal device, running on the MTK6755 (Helio P10) chipset and will feature are 2K display.

The display will not be below 5.5-inch, otherwise the use of the 2K resolution will miss it’s point. The front shows that the hardware keys for home, menu and back will be replaced with on-screen virtual keys. When we look at the design, the battery will probably not be removable. On the rear side we can see a fingerprint ID scanner and dual LED flash.

If we look at the competition, I believe that the new Ulefone will come with at least 4GB RAM / 32GB ROM.....

I decided on buying my very first tablet... After buying my first Samsung Galaxy phone, I have come to absolutely love Amoled displays.

So I have only 2 choices I guess?
So what do you guys think? I've done loads of research and I just can't decided because:

Tab s is Cheaper, better battery, bigger screen But slower SOC.
Tab S2 is faster and i like the portrait orientation with that 4:3 ratio (these are the only advantages imho since i genuinely don't care about the looks, the camera nor the thinness of it because the tablet is going to be in it's case all the time).

So I cant decide if I should go for the old and save a few bucks (euros actually ;)) or go for the new one that is like 20% faster.

I forgot to mention that I will mainly be using it for ebooks and reading, and maybe a few movies now and then.
Oh and lastly I will be installing cyanogenmod immediately since I never liked bloatware.

[Sim card unlock] My network operator blocked my sim network

Hi everybody!
I have sim card and it was working fine, one day I opened my phone then there was no network, I could search for networks manually but I couldn't choose the right network it shows " Cannot choose network please try again later " and when I use apps to see sim status it shows " Sim locked " .
My phone isn't locked and I can use other sim cards from the same operator, maybe my network operator blocked my sim for some reason, I just wanna know if there is some way to make it work again.

hi, today i got my z5 from three UK. when i change to manual mode in 20 or 23 mp i cant select any scn. its just grey disable. but if i select 8mp then i can select. is it for everybody? or just three firmware?

Samsung Pay

I used Samsung pay for the first time yesterday and it worked flawlessly just like the demos I've watched online but the merchant did not have a NFC terminal so they didn't understand how I was able to pay. At first they said "we don't have apple pay" so I explained the service I was using but then they asked me for my ID and credit card which brings me to the problem, they said your receipt card number does not match your physical card number. After some more explaining and handing my phone over to show the virtual card number which matched, I was finally able to complete my purchase. This is probably a one off situation but it almost makes me not want to use the service because of the huge hassle. Anyone else experience this?

Official ROM Updates vs. Debloating

Hi there,

My last Samsung device before the edge+ was a SGSII (still working in the car as waze / GPS) and I am coming from a Sony Z3 / iOS.

While using iOS, I would get new updates from the iDevice itself and from iTunes. With the Z3, every time you plug the cellphone to the PC, PC Companion (Sony Software) checks for updates. In fact, I did all updates connected to the PC.

With the Edge+, how will I receive the info that there is a new firmware available? Should I install something on my PC?

Will the phone itself warn me about new updates? If so, does any1 know which packages should I keep from disabling with Packager Disabler Pro?

Best Camera?

Whats the best mod or app for the oneplus one camera. I tried a few so far and the ones that come with custom roms are pretty bad compared to other 13mp camera phones.

Confirm so I know its not just me?

* Bluetooth in general seems to stop responding altogether after awhile. Restart required to get it working. Seems most noticeable when trying to play using a gamepad (NES30 bluetooth gamepad)

* sixaxis pair tool cant seem to configure driver. retries about 3 or 4 times, eventually gives up and restores bluetooth state

* can no longer change default launcher. HALLauncher for instance, does not let me use it as default launcher anymore.

* bluetooth seems to momentarily freeze. Using my nexus remote, sometimes remote stops responding but a usb connected keyboard still works even during this period. remote eventually goes back to normal.



(for the record, I am rooted, though alot of these issues still occured whether rooted or not.)

[Fix] Multi Tasking Lollipop

I have tried several roms in my xt 1033, cm11, 5.02, 5.1 Optimized , ASOP etc. I found Optimized 5.02 have more free ram available ( uninstalled all Google apps) . But it also failed in multitasking. Apps are closing frequently at the time available ram is always above 300 mb. Tried lower LMK values in using kernel aduitor, but the results are same.
After searching for a fix found a line at build prop "ro.MAX_HIDDEN_APPS=12."
Edited 12 to 16 and rebooted, Multi Tasking ability increased. Then I tried values 20,22,30,34. 34 gives me the best result, but lagging after opening more apps. Now I can switch between 16 apps. I am also tried to delete that line. It also gives same result.
Backup your rom before trying this.
It may also work with 5.1 stock rom, found these lines in 5.1 build prop too.

What launcher do you use

Touchwiz is a bit more refined than the resource hog it was a number of years ago but it's still not good enough.

I've tried them all and always go back to Nova Launcher, it's definitely the best of them all IMO.

Moving from HTC and sense to nexus and pure Google

Ok so I'm jumping ship ,been HTC for ever and love sense but M9 was a big let down and with a upgrade due I'm not waiting for M10.I love sense though and like my phone clean and very rarely move off home screen for stuff expect BlinkFeed,so any tips on how to make pure Google work for me while retaining some sort of sense

[Q] Compile Chromium apk with AOSP

With Chromium now available for Android, is it possible to integrate it into AOSP?

I'm starting to modify my local AOSP copy by stripping out unwanted Apps, like the Browser because i like Chromium better, but i'm still a noob regarding adding apps.
I found this to be a helpfl starting point, but the build instructions are confusing me on how i'd build Chromium within the process of compiling AOSP.

Thankful for any tips, guides, pointers, etc.

Rom Installation

Before You Start:
Backup EVERYTHING you want to save from internal and external (SD) storage.
• Copy the downloaded rom.zip file to storage.
This can be internal or external OTG storage device since the TWRP recovery provided in Stage 2 will read from OTG storage.

Stage 1:
** Skip to STAGE 2 if OEM Unlock has already been done **
Preparing the stock rom
• In the stock rom, turn on developer mode, enable USB debugging and OEM Unlock
• Settings>>>about device>>> scroll to bottom and tap build number 8 times
now press back button once and tap developer options...
• Toggle on both USB debugging and OEM Unlock.

Stage 2:
** Skip to STAGE 3 if already running a custom recovery / TWRP, Philz, Etc **
Install Custom Recovery with Odin
• Download Odin & custom recovery tar
Odin3_v3.10.6.zip
twrp-2.8.7.0-nobleltespr.img.tar

• Extract Odin zip-file
• Power down the phone
• Open Odin on pc
• Boot phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)

• Add the recovery file to AP / PDA (depending on version of Odin)
• Make sure re-partition & Auto Reboot are NOT ticked
• Click the start button and let the Odin flash complete

Stage 3:

Brick after phone freezing?

Hello everyone. A buddy of mine is having a problem with his phone and it has me puzzeled. He was playing a game the other night and he told me the game froze and then when he went to swipe it way in the app manager he whole phone shut off and will not turn back on. Do you guys think this is a hard brink or something of the sort or a hardwater problem? Any help would be appreciated since he does not have the money to but out his contract and get a new phone. HTC One M8 (T-Mobile) Mobile Hotspot with Skydragon ROM v10.0 Stuck on "Processing"

Hello, I have had the issue of Mobile Networking sharing on my HTC One M8 being stuck on "Processing" and being unable to use the function. I am running this rom on v10.0. I remember using a fairly old version of this ROM, probably v1.0 or so and tethering worked fine for me.


Hitting "Off" will turn the mobile hotspot "on", but also gray out that square and no network hotspot is created.

Hitting "Off" will dim the screen black and have the word "Processing" in the middle and freezes my phone. I am forced to mash the home button to get out of that screen.


Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you very much!

unlock bootloader and recovery mode in canvas hue AQ5000

I am using a canvas hue Aq5000 from last 5 months which i rooted by kingroot.
Since there is no official lollipop uldate i am planning to flash a custom rom in it.
Developers please guide me how to unlock its bootloader and enter into recovery mode every time i try it only shows factory mode with debug test manual test and all.
Im so trying to re- root it with super su but that also fails binary update please help.

I9505 webm video error

Hi guys, i have a GT-I9505 device, I've just upgrated my phone from Resurrection Lollipop v5.5.6 to v5.5.7 but i noticed that i'm not able to see webm videos anymore. I tried to re-flash the rom twice but the problem is still here. It's just my problem or is a rom issue? I also tried to set Awesome Player as default in Developer Settings but nothing...

Problem with returning to stock ROM from ArchiDroid

i don't know what to do, now i realized that recovery from archidroid does not work, it boots normally, but doesn't react to touch or buttons, i needed to flash recovery XM DUAL 4.3 philz 6.50.6 For 15.5.A.1.5 using flashtool to do something.
please help!!!
